Wagashi at Mahorodou Sougetsu まほろ堂 蒼月

Updated: Apr 15

A small but popular spot in Setgaya selling seasonal wagashi. There are a few seats inside where you can enjoy the wagashi with coffee or tea, or you can take it to go. Since it's pretty popular you may have to wait in line to get in!

There are two small tables as well as a small wall-mounted counter table which I was sitting at.

I paired my wagashi with some traditional matcha. The wagashi pictured here is a manju type in the shape of a noh mask.

A yuzu shaped wagashi with yuzu flavored white bean paste in the middle. It is delicate in both texture and flavor and was my favorite by far!

They have some tenugui and washi tape for sale on the counter to the right of the wagashi display.

I went during the new year so they had a lovely little kagami mochi on top of the wagashi display!
