This picturesque festival takes place about 3km south of Lake Motosuko in the Fuji Five Lakes area, and features sprawling fields of approximately 800,000 stalks of shibazakura (pink moss/phlox in English) in 5 different varieties. On clear days, Mount Fuji can be seen, and it provides a beautiful backdrop for the flowers. This is a very popular festival, so we recommend going on a weekday, and not going during Golden Week (April 29~May 5).
