Fuchu City Local Forest Museum is located in Fuchu, Tokyo. You can get to this museum on the Keio line from Shinjuku station to Bubaigawara station, and then either walk or take a bus from Bubaigawara station. The entire journey from Shinjuku station takes about 1 hour.
Every year during ajisai (hydrangea) season they hold a festival where you can see around 10,000 flowers of 30 different varieties that are spread out over the museum’s 140,000 square metre garden! On the grounds there are historical buildings, a tea ceremony building where you can have matcha and wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) a ramen restaurant, and a little cafe that sells dango and ice cream!
