Ghibli Park - Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse (ジブリの大倉庫)

ghibli park

The long-awaited Ghibli Park opened its doors in November of 2022. There are 5 different areas in the park which are: Ghibli's Grand Warehouse, Hill of Youth, Dondoko Forest, Mononoke Village, and Valley of Witches.

Here's what to expect for Ghibli's Grand Warehouse.

Address: 1533-1 Ibaragabasama, Nagakute, Aichi

Below is a map from the Ghibli Park website illustrating each section:

The Central Stairs

The main hall area has a large mosaic staircase reminiscent of Antoni Gaudi's Parc Guell. Hanging from the ceiling is the large illuminated replica of a ship from Castle in the Sky that has spinning propellers and rises and falls as it would if it were airborne.

The Exhibition Area

There are a few small rooms decorated with items seen in some of the Ghibli movies. This room was filled with items from the movie Arrietty.

Around the Arrietty room are large flowers and blades of grass, which make you feel like you're in the movie and the same size as her.

The main part of the exhibition area is the room where you can take photos with life-sized sculptures of all of your favorite Ghibli movie characters.

Another area for photo-ops is in the north western corner of the building which has a large Laputain Robot Trooper. There will be a dedicated line to wait for your opportunity to take a picture with it.

Milk Stand Siberi An

For a little snack you can head over to Milk Stand Siberi An which serves retro-style glass bottles of milk and red bean paste cake inspired by the "Siberia" from The Wind Rises.

Near the Milk Stand you can also catch a glimpse into Yubaba's room from Spirited Away.

Minami-machi

A small, nostalgic shopping street with shops selling Ghibli-related goods such as records and small sculptures of food from the movies.

Ghibli Park

The Cat Bus Room and Children's Town are areas for children to play so we did not take any photos of them.

The gift shop is full of Ghibli-related merchandise, some only available at the Ghibli Park shop.
