Toraya has been selling confectionery since the 16th century, and has multiple locations all over Japan, and even in Paris! The company was founded in Kyoto by Kurokawa Enchu, and has remained in the Kurokawa family for the entirety of it's history. Each location is different, so if you would like to sit and enjoy wagashi in the shop make sure to check before you go as some are take out only.
