A Temple Inside of a Cliff - Oya-Ji Temple 大谷寺

Oya-Ji Temple in Tochigi prefecture is a unique temple that was constructed into a hole in the side of a rock cliff, and is home to a giant statue of Kannon (the Goddess of Mercy). It also preserves the oldest Buddhist stone reliefs in Japan!
