Kawazu Sakura

The majority of cherry blossoms in Japan bloom around late March to early April, but most people don't know about the early blooming cherry blossoms that bloom around mid February to mid March. This variety of cherry blossom is called "Kawazu Zakura" and can be found all over Japan at shrines, by rivers, and even in the streets of Tokyo. Kawazu Sakura are more pink than regular cherry blossoms and the weather around this time is typically more sunny and not as rainy as it is when the other variations of cherry blossom bloom.
